The world as imagined by the Vikings

Viking expert Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Rudolf Simek reconstructed this map based on sagas and various late medieval maps from Denmark and Iceland. Noteworthy features include several country names west of Greenland, which must have been located on the northeast coast of Canada, and the land bridge between northern Norway and Greenland, which remained marked on maps well into modern times.
